Which iPhone and iPad models can run the app?

I Need a Coffee requires iOS 17 or later.

If your device can update to iOS 17, it can run the app.

This includes:

iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max (2018) and all newer iPhones

iPad (6th generation) and newer

iPad mini (5th generation) and newer

iPad Pro (2nd generation, 12.9‑inch) and newer

No. Your location is used only to show nearby cafés in the moment.

It is never stored, shared, or tracked.

Does the app track my location?
Does it work overseas?
Does it show chain cafés?

Yes. The app works anywhere Apple Maps has coverage – ideal for travellers, crew, and anyone exploring a new city.

You decide.

There’s a simple toggle to hide chains and focus on local spots.

The list of chains adapts to where you are in the world.

If a chain isn’t listed, you can add it in Custom chains.

Does it show bakeries and patisseries?

Yes. Many bakeries serve excellent coffee, so you can include them with a single toggle.

This is particularly useful in the regional areas of Europe, for example.

Yes.

The app uses Apple Maps data, so it requires Wi‑Fi or mobile data.

Absolutely.

Choose Apple Maps or Google Maps in Settings – whichever you prefer. Or, get it to ask you each time.

Yes.

You can save favourites, add personal notes, and find them again instantly. You can also easily edit your notes in the same favourites list.

No problem. On the map just click on the "Closest 5" icon in the lower left corner. Tap any place in the list and the map will jump straight to it.

Yes.

You can send a place to a friend or colleague in seconds.

Do I need an internet connection?
